John Stephenson is a popular working medium from Portsmouth. He is a Geordie by birth and has the wry humour typical of the North East. He likes to tell the tale that once he was a man about town, working as a bouncer in nightclubs until he was haunted into the Movement by a friend killed in a motoring accident and who appeared to him night after night. Driven to sleeping his car to escape the phenomena, the haunting ceased when John attended his local Spiritualist Church and received an evidential communication from this friend.
